30 yrs of Japanese Fashion

I went to see the Future Beauty exhibition in Barbican (the same place where I had my graduation ceremony! This place brings back memories, just that I'm all by myself this time). This is the first exhibition in Europe to ever showcase avant-garde Japanese fashion which began in the 1980's when Yohji Yamamoto made his Paris debut. The Japanese introduced the "concealing rather than revealing the figure" concept and turned fashion into art. Unproportional and oversized had proved to have shocked the world at the time. My favorite in the exhibition must be the white bridal dress made from wading by Rei Kawakubo/Commes Des Garcons. Featured designers in the exhibition include Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Jun Takahashi, Tao Kurihara, Junya Watanabe and Rei Kawakubo.

shoot in london

A long awaited shoot with the young, beautiful, and talented photographer Jude =)  This shoot was inspired by an image I saw in a Chinese magazine I bought a while back the last time I was in Hong Kong called Little Thing. I tried to recreate the dreamy theme with a dolly interpretation. The Cath Kidston floral wallpaper was a must! Was very happy with the result, thanks Jude.

Special Thanks to:

Jude Tsang: Photographer
Namiko Takemiya: MUA
Satoshi Watanabe: Hair Stylist
Jo Marshall: Model

I logged onto my facebook page today,  and I thought I'll also check my fan page too (I haven't updated anything new ; __ ;  but thought I'll check for new "likes") and to my surprise the "People Like This" has.....

reached 100 fans!!!

so happy to hear that it has finally reached my first goal number. 70% being my own friends supporting me then the rest 30% is people whom I do not know. Whether you know me or not, thankyou! ^ ^ (100th fan being Kathy.C, that's just how special you are!)

In a sweet little village lies a cute little studio...

Last Friday was a productive day for a group of beautiful girls as I travelled to a small town called Rastrick near Huddersfield with luggage full of my quilt-like garments for a photoshoot.

Special Thanks to photographer Xanthe from Orphee Studios (loving your photography skills, you just know what i want! and especially re-painting the studio for this shoot aswell!) MUA Shafika (your hair styling inspires me so much!), models Becky and Marie, (thanks for wearing my clothes whilst bearing the cold!!) and Topshop (for lending me some garments & brogues which I accidently smudged paint on and then letting me return them afterwards lol)

Had fun with:
talc powder,
feathers,
chiffon,
lace,
fur,
netting
